Produce Safety Rule Cleaning and Sanitation Workshop in Salisbury, NC

Topics to be covered


This interactive workshop provides fruit and vegetable growers information and tools necessary to develop an effective cleaning and sanitizing program. During this workshop we will go over foundations and hands-on demonstrations of cleaning procedures and verification methods applicable to field harvesting and packing houses. Topics that will be covered include:

  • Developing a cleaning and sanitizing program
  • Equipment and tools needed
  • Documentation including SOPs and monitoring logs
  • Training workers/ cleaning crews
  • References to the Produce Safety Rule and market requirements

Target Audience

This workshop is designed for farm personnel with cleaning and sanitizing responsibilities including leading or performing cleaning and sanitizing activities, Extension agents, produce safety educators, industry association representatives, and regulatory agency representatives.

Registration Fee


$50.00 per participant/ $25.00 for each additional attendee from the same farm.
